Foundation Seminars

Foundation Seminars are short-term, content-driven courses designed to help you grow in a particular area of interest or need. These seminars help us comprehend the subtle intricacies and overarching truths of our God and the theology, ministry and history He has authored. Foundation Seminars are styled as lectures and discussion, with occasional reading assignments outside of class. Our vision for Foundation Seminars is to help adults acquire a comprehensive Christian education resulting in spiritual growth and service to God and others. Foundation Seminars are offered periodically. The topics below show you the types of courses we offer.

Marriage Matters: extraordinary change through ordinary moments

We will discover to how to make the ordinary moments become extraordinary. Using discussion questions, small group exercises, vignettes, Bible study, and relationship-building activities, this interactive course gives couples the invaluable experience of applying and living the principles from the book Marriage Matters.

Change begins with understanding how and why small disagreements evolve into major problems, taking practical steps to love one another more effectively, and learning how to take those same steps over and over again. Interactions that used to devolve into pointless annoyances and fights can become opportunities for God's love to become increasingly evident and powerful. Winston T. Smith takes abstract, biblical principles and applies them to the concrete details of life so that ordinary marriages can become extraordinary.

  Growth and Development

Tough Questions Apologetics

Scripture tells us to “always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). The questions we’re asked may be tough, but finding the answers doesn’t have to be.

In the “Tough Questions” DVD course, Ray Comfort, Emeal Zwayne, and Mark Spence will not only equip you to have ready answers to the questions you’ll face, but will arm you with an arsenal of valuable questions of your own. You’ll learn simple ways to help people think through their beliefs and to reason with those who may seem unreasonable.

In these sessions you’ll explore what apologetics is (and isn’t), its proper role in evangelism, the fundamentals of worldviews, and the biblical key to unlock the heart of the ungodly.

Most importantly, you’ll be given tools to have life-changing conversations with friends and strangers as you share the truth of the gospel, pointing people to the only Answer they need.
