Allen and his wife, Carolyn, moved to Raleigh in 1989 from southern California.
From the beginning of their marriage they joined a church & became active as
members. They found a new church soon after their arrival in Raleigh but began to
have questions about the teachings.
They heard about Colonial from some friends who were attending so they decided to
visit. Foremost in their search for a new church was a desire for sound gospel exposition
from the pulpit. On that very first visit Pastor Davey said: "There are
too many churches today where doctrinal compromise is considered a virtue and the
truth is considered offensive." They knew immediately that God had led them
to their new church home.
That was in 1997 and they have seen much growth - personally as well as in the Colonial family! Allen has served in a leadership/assistant teaching role with Adult Bible Fellowship in the Believer's Workshop, utilized his technical gifts and love for music in the sound ministry, and has served on several short-term mission trips to El Salvador.
Now, following the model of the early church, God has called men in Colonial to serve as deacons to the flock.
