Bubba Puryear is originally from South Boston, Virginia. He grew up in a Navy family, so the East Coast has been “home” for him. He moved to Raleigh in 1997 to take a job.
The Lord has blessed him with a wonderful wife, Stephanie, and four children. He is a computer scientist by education and works as a software architect.
Bubba grew up under sound gospel preaching and came to see his need for a personal Savior as a child. He was convinced that he would have to pay the consequences of his sins and was happy to learn that God made a way through Christ for him to be made right with Him.
His family has been attending Colonial since 1998. He and Stephanie serve together in the nursery.
His favorite Scripture is Hosea 1:10: “Yet the number of the sons of Israel will be like the sand of the sea, which cannot be measured or numbered; And in the place where it is said to them ‘You are not My people,’ It will be said to them, ‘You are the sons of the living God.’”
