Mark Greene was born and raised in a Christian home in the small rural town of Thomson in eastern Georgia. He attended Georgia Tech, where he earned a Bachelors of Electrical Engineering degree. After living and working in Maryland for a number of years, he moved to Summerville, SC, near Charleston, where he met his wife, Karen, in a Singles Sunday School class. They have been happily married since 1995 and now have two children: Alexa and Andrew.
The Greenes moved to the Raleigh area in 1998 and currently live in Apex. Mark works for Tekelec as a Senior Manager for Software Development. They have been attending Colonial since 2002, when they were invited by friends to hear Pastor Davey, shortly after they had adopted their daughter, Alexa. They have been members since 2003.
In addition to serving as a deacon, Mark coaches Upward Basketball and is involved with the Cornerstone ABF. Karen is an assistant in the Chameleons special needs class.
His flock is made up of a number of families and singles in the Apex area, concentrated mainly in the neighborhoods spreading west of the intersection of Olive Chapel and Kelly Road, along with pockets along NC-55 near US-64.
