Deacon Team Leader

Elmer Dixon was born in 1949 and raised on a farm in Southern Illinois. He became a Christian as a child. He met his wife, Linda, at Emmaus Bible College in Chicago and they were married in 1968. They settled in Wake County where Elmer began his career as a home builder.

He and Linda began attending Colonial when the church was meeting at the East Cary Junior High School and became members shortly after.

They have two sons, Scott and Brian, who, along with their families, are also members of Colonial. He is the proud “Papa” of six grandchildren, with one more on the way.

He enjoys cycling and completed a cross-country tour from Los Angeles, CA to Boston, MA in 2006.

In addition to serving Colonial as a deacon, he enjoys ministering in the Colonial Choir and participating in the Carpenters for Christ short-term mission trips.
